Outta This World News – Theatre is Going Galactic!

A surreal theatre scene on the moon, with performers in space helmets on stage under a starry sky. Outta This World News – Theatre is Going Galactic! Performance Accountancy

It seems the West End isn’t the final frontier after all…

In news that had us double-checking our calendars (and our gravity), it appears that a new force in theatre-land, “Outta This World Productions Ltd”, has announced plans to open the first-ever permanent theatre on the Moon by 2029.

The venue, charmingly named The Apollo Encore, will seat 800 lucky space-farers, and promises an immersive experience with 360-degree sound and floating front-row seats.

Expect “weightless musicals” and “galactic interpretations of Shakespeare” – possibly with a side of freeze-dried interval snacks.

This moon-rock-breaking move is backed by the Performers Council’s Outer Atmosphere Division, SpaceXYZ, and a special new HMRC team – called Out of Orbit Affairs.

Rumours are flying that they are offering up to 45% tax relief for UK arts exported beyond Earth.

Ish.

Cue Louise, The Singing Accountant  with tongue in cheek behind space helmet.

Naturally, I am already prepping my clients for lunar gigs, with helpful advice on:

  • Whether your harp qualifies as carry-on

  • The ins and outs of Earth Exit Visas

  • And the tax implications of touring in zero gravity

I’ve even launched a Galactic Touring Checklist to help performers prepare. It’s free, downloadable but don’t let it float off, and only mildly ridiculous.

So, whether you’re a sceptic or you’re packing your moon boots already – head over and enjoy this little cosmic twist.

Happy April Fool’s Day, stars ✨
– Louise
